The 2023 scholarship application cycle closed March 1, 2023. Thank you to all our applicants! 2023 scholarship award recipients have been contacted.
A Quick History On January 13, 2017, our organization created a scholarship fund aimed at awarding monies to deserving, recent high school graduates who have chosen to pursue their higher education locally. Our first year, we awarded the scholarships specifically to benefit Del Mar College students. In February 2018, we expanded our criteria to include students enrolled at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, Texas A&M University–Kingsville, Coastal Bend Community College, University of the Incarnate Word Adult Education–CC, as well as Del Mar College. In 2020, following the passing of the Honorable United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, our organization created a separate scholarship in her memory, awarded to eligible first- and third-year law students, who previously graduated from a Texas Coastal Bend high school.
Funding The funding of our scholarships are determined primarily by our annual spring luncheon. By supporting and sponsoring tables at our annual spring luncheon, you are contributing to the funding of our scholarships.
If you are interested in making a contribution directly to our scholarship fund, you can do so by submitting a check to the Coastal Bend Community Foundation for our scholarship fund. Any contributions made through the Coastal Bend Community Foundation are a charitable contribution as they are a 501c(3) tax entity. While we accept direct contributions, any contributions made directly to our organization for our scholarship does not qualify as a charitable contribution as we are a 501c(6) tax entity.
