Please note: We are no longer accepting applications for 2021. The 2021 scholarship recipients will be announced soon.
A Quick History On January 13, 2017, our organization funded the first scholarships to be given to two students. We award two scholarships in the amount of $1250* each to students that meet the criteria established by our Board. Our first year we awarded the scholarships specifically to benefit Del Mar College students. In February 2018 we expanded our criteria to include students at Texas A&M University-CC, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Coastal Bend Community College, University of the Incarnate Word Adult Education - CC as well as Del Mar College. In 2020, following the passing of the Honorable United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, our organization created a scholarship in her memory.
Funding The funding of our scholarships are determined primarily by the only major fundraising event we have: our annual spring luncheon. Our annual spring luncheon is held usually in March and is an opportunity for us to honor a woman of distinction. By supporting and sponsoring tables at our annual spring luncheon you are contributing to the funding of our scholarships.
If you are interested in making a contribution directly to our scholarship fund you can do so by submitting a check to the Coastal Bend Community Foundation for our scholarship fund. Any contributions made through the Coastal Bend Community Foundation are a charitable contribution as they are a 501c(3) tax entity. Any contributions made directly to our organization for our scholarship does not qualify as a charitable contribution as we are a 501c(6) tax entity.
How to Apply The Coastal Bend Community Foundation (CBCF) administers our scholarship fund. They have an online application process that is open from December 15th - March 1st of each year. Any students interested in applying for our scholarship must apply through the CBCF website online application process.
